So you want to stay anonymous online eh?
alright here's a few tips I learned:
-STOP USING GOOGLE! : This is (and should be) one of the most obvious and easiest choices. Note, the same rule goes for every conventional search engine: Bing (even though they say they only keep cookie data for 30 days, that 30 days, even if the information stored was searched for legal purposes (but still deemed questionable), conduit, etc, that little byte of data can land you in hot water with the police and possibly in prison for 10 years or more. So if you Don't want to waste 50% of your life behind bars, do us all a favor and use a secure search engine like ixquick or startpagesearch both completely free, safe (even from the Heartbleed SSL exploit). Unlike most search engines powered by Google, Startpage and ixquick (startpage is basically a child company of ixquick both run under the same engine just different names for security purposes) DO NOT record cookie data and in most cases don't even USE cookies.
-Use proxy's and VPN's: Kinda obvious but still to the average newbie proxy's and VPN's are a mystery. Well get ready for a bombshell: Most VPN's are available for free (top 2 are CyberGhost and SpotFlux now to run SpotFlux you have to run a specific distro of Java, the distro normally depends upon the type of computer you use and the version you download, It should say in the install .exe package.) and most proxy ports with login info and other details can be found also for free at http://www.hidemyass.com. Now you might be asking: "OK well this information is all good and fine but, WHAT THE HELL IS A PROXY OR VPN???" well I'll tell you, first let me define the difference between the 2:
a Proxy is essentially a port (a virtual socket that lets you connect to the Internet among other things) that you connect to and it reroutes your connection to an offshore server that changes your IP address.
now a VPN (or Virtual Private Network) does essentially the same thing but does it in a downloadable (sometimes portable) and easier to run format and in most cases consists of more than one proxy sever to add a extra layer of protection (same system TOR browser uses except a bit different I'll go into this in another post.)
OK now that that's out of the way lets get onto the next point:
-Learn to Code: Now for the average computer user this can seem overwhelming to the point of bitching out. Well to be honest its not that hard to learn. The first one you should learn can be a coin flip depending on what you want from this knowlage: better performance of your Internet knowledge and connection or better performance of your system.
if you want the latter go with Python and if you want the former go with HTML both are extremely easy to learn, just ixquick them for some easy and free guides.
-Incognito: Simple and proven way to remain, well, incognito. Most browers have this option that you can enable by right clicking on the browers logo on your task bar and selecting incognito option, this will clear your browsers cashe and cookies and history after closing.
-Use Bitcoin: Anonymous currency, best way to buy things without being traced, you can closeout your PayPal account or any other bank account, transfer it onto a visa gift card and use that gift card to buy and many Bitcoin possible and get a wallet (like electrum, multibit and armory are the top 3) and put it on cold storage) and more recently overstock.com started accepting Bitcoin in exchange for top quality items all completely legal and up to 30% off retail price
-Never give out personal information online: Kind of speaks for itself. If you have to give out a mailing address use KATZGlobal or Private Box which does anonymous mail drops, pickups and remails.
-Email: Use only one or 2 at the most, email accounts and route all other accounts (youtube, twitter, facebook) to that one email account. (and dont use your real name in any account, if you are prompted to enter a name just use John (or Jane) Doe/ Smith and use a fake address.
-Prepaid prepaid prepaid: use everything prepaid, debit cards, phones, accountants, whatever you have do it prepaid, that way you can't be tracked by credit card bills and payments.
OK that's all the Information I have time to Give, if you like what you read be sure to subscribe to me on YouTube.
thanks.
